There would be no storybook ending tonight when the Medaille College men’s basketball team took the ball down the floor with seven seconds remaining, trailing by one point. In contrast from the previous night where they nailed a shot at the buzzer to bring them to overtime, this time the clock hit zeroes with the ball being turned over and Medaille falling two points shy of victory. This night would belong to SUNY-IT who would hold off several feverish comeback attempts by the Mavericks to take a (64-63) victory into the “Sweet Sixteen”. The Mavericks showed their “never die” attitude throughout as they came back on three different occasions from deficits as large as (18) points to turn this game into a nailbiter.
