Andrews_MattCoach Matt Andrews is entering his second season at the helm of the Medaille College Women’s Soccer team.  In 2008 he led the Lady Mavs to a (12-9-1) overall record and a (7-2-0) mark in AMCC play.  The Lady Mavs advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament and earned an ECAC Tournament bid under Coach Andrews.

Prior to becoming the head coach for the ladies he spent four years as an assistant with both the men’s and women’s teams at Medaille. He has served as the Associate Head Coach for the women and Goalkeeper Coach for the men. Coach Andrews has been an integral part of the success of both teams.

Prior to coming to Medaille, Coach Andrews spent seven years coaching high school soccer in Western New York. He began his coaching career at Gates-Chili High School outside Rochester and continued coaching career at Clarence High School after moving to Buffalo in 2000. Coach Andrews is also the Director of Goalkeepers for the Clarence Soccer Club and has previously coached club teams at various age levels. Coach Andrews holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional license and will soon be completing his national license.

Originally a standout goalkeeper from Penfield High School, in suburban Rochester, Coach Andrews has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, OH, as well as a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Brockport. He currently resides in Getzville with his wife Phyllis and their two children, Grady and Hailey.
