Men’s Basketball Hangs on at Altoona
The Medaille College men’s basketball team continued its strong play as they got another AMCC road win hanging on for a (75-69) victory at Penn State-Altoona. The Lions made a run in the second half turning a (37-31) halftime deficit into a (52-49) lead with (9:08) remaining in the game. From that moment on the Mavs would dictate play, stretching their lead to as many as nine points on their way to victory. The Mavs received a pair of (18) point performances from senior Keith Hack (Hopewell Junction, NY) and Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) with Malicki knocking down six of his eight shots from the floor. Junior guard Ricky Reed (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta)(pictured) was perfect from the floor on the days as he drained all five shots that he attempted en route to a (15) point, (4) rebound and (4) assist afternoon. The Mavs improve to (17-1) overall and sit atop the AMCC standings at (12-1). They will head to Hilbert College on Wednesday (1/27) for an AMCC showdown with the Hawks at 8:00pm
