Second Half Surge Not Enough for Lady Mavs
Senior Tiffany Sullivan (Penfield, NY/Nazareth Academy) (pictured) scored a team high (13) points off the bench, and the Lady Mavs rebounded from a tough first half; but, it was not enough as Medaille (2-1) would drop it’s first game of the season to Endicott (51-45) in the championship game of the Endicott Tip-Off Classic in Beverly, Mass. The Lady Mavs trailed (32-17) at the half, going (7 for 30) (23.3%) from the field, which included shooting just (9.1%) from beyond the arc. However, the second half was a different story as they would outscore the Lady Gulls (28-19) shooting a much improved (37.5%) from the field after half and holding Endicott to just (26.9%) shooting; however the second half push proved to be too little, too late. Sophomore Meghan Dougherty (Buffalo, NY/Nichols) added (10) points as well as a team high (4) assists in (37) minutes in the (6) point loss for Medaille. The Lady Mavs are now (2-1) on the season as they will travel back home for their first AMCC conference game of the year against La Roche College Tuesday, November 24, tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
