Soccer Wins 3 of 4 AMCC Weekly Honors
The Medaille College Soccer programs were well represented in this week’s AMCC awards. The Lady Mavs swept the women’s side as Mary Smialek (Girard, PA/Girard)(pictured) garnered Female Player of the Week honors after her strong showing in an upset win over Penn State-Altoona where she scored a goal and assisted on the game winner. Teammate Brittany DeBole (Rochester, NY/Northstar Academy) earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors for her strong performance in that same game in which she stopped six Lion shots. Senior Gary Boughton (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) added to his NCAA Career Assists record as he doled out four more helpers bringing his career total to an astonishing (77). Boughton also scored a pair of goals in a key AMCC victory at Penn State-Altoona.
