The Medaille College women’s soccer team opened the 2009 campaign on their home turf as Fredonia State came to All High Stadium.  The visiting Blue Devils would leave Buffalo with a (2-0) victory.  In the early stages of the game it was clear that first year goalkeeper Brittany DeBole (Rochester, NY/Northstar Academy)(pictured) would have her work cut out for her as she made several spectacular saves to keep the Blue Devils off the board. She finished the game with (14) saves.  The Lady Mavs were able to keep Fredonia off the board despite being outshot (15-4) in the opening frame.  As the second half began the Blue Devils pushed the tempo and their hard work payed off as they tallied the games first marker at the (53:42) mark.  A second goal with under four minutes to play would put the game out of reach.  The loss leaves Medaille at (0-1-0) and they will head to Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday (9/5) for a 1:00pm contest.
