Just four years ago the Mavs sat at the bottom of the Division III basketball world. Today, they are champions of the AMCC and heading to the programs first ever NCAA Tournament. The Mavs used blistering shooting, (62.7%) for the game, to outgun Pitt-Bradford (82-71) in the AMCC title game. It was a game that saw the Mavs hit big shot, after big shot and an MVP type performance from junior, guard, Keith Hack (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) who played the game of his life. Hack finished the game shooting (11 of 13) from the floor, including (2 of 2) from behind the three point arc and (5 of 7) from the charity stripe, for a career high (29) points, he also tied a game high by collecting (7) caroms. The Lady Mavericks hopes of an AMCC Championship were halted Friday evening as they traveled to Pitt-Greensburg to play the top seeded Bobcats. The Mavericks had a hard time against Greensburg and at the (13:45) mark of the first half the Bobcats took the lead and would continue to roll en route to a (33-16) lead at the half. The second half was much of the same as the Bobcats took the game (61-49) to advance to the AMCC Championship game. The night was not without loss though as Medaille College had its second athlete this evening reach the 1,000 point plateau as senior Carissa Ferrucci (Hamburg, NY/Immaculata Academy)(pictured) finished the game with six points and surpassed the distinguished mark with a layup joining Bill Gersitz of the men’s team who accomplished the feat earlier in the evening. Ferrucci now has (1,002) points in her tremendous career. Making the feat for Ferrucci even greater was the fact she was only a few games removed from a serious knee injury. In the game, the Mavericks received a team high 14 points and 15 rebounds from sophomore Amanda Sahhar (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) as Medaille finishes the season at (16-11) overall and now waits for a potential bid to the ECAC Tournament.

The Mavs started off the game slow with Frostburg jumping to an early (9-2) lead, however Medaille would take the lead back at the (9:37) mark of the first half on a layup from junior Keith Hack (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) who finished with 12 points and five boards in the game.
