Mavs Rout Mounties in AMCC Hoops Clash
The Medaille College men’s basketball team dominated Mt. Aloysius in every facet of the game enroute to a (97-68) rout of their conference foe. It was a well balanced team effort as (13 of 15) players made it into the scoring column. The Mavs led from the opening tip and never trailed. Medaille jumped out to a (21-2) lead and held a (28) point lead at the half (53-25). Their largest lead of the game came with (7:22) remaining as they led by (33) points. Four players reached double figures for the Mavs, leading the way was senior, Bill Gersitz (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore East) (pictured), who tied for a game high with (14) points on (7 of 9) shooting, while pulling down a game high (7) boards. Junior, guard, Mike Berkun (Getzville, NY/Williamsville North) scored (6) points and tied a career high with (7) assists. Another strong performance was given by Ricky Reed (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) who scored (14) points on (6 of 7) shooting from the floor. The win moves the Mavs to (12-5) overall and they still share the AMCC lead at (7-3). The Mavs will host Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday (1/28) at 8:00pm.
