Men’s Soccer Players Receive Awards from National Soccer Coaches Association of America
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has released their annual awards and the Medaille Men’s Soccer team was well represented.
For the first time in program history, Medaille received a 2008 NSCAA/Adidas Men’s Collegiate Scholar All-American Athlete: junior Gary Boughton (Lancaster, NY/ Lancaster). Gary was a midfielder in the College Division Second Team. Boughton will receive his award at the annual All-America luncheon in Saint Louis on January 17, 2009.
Medaille received three players on the NSCAA/Adidas Men’s Collegiate Scholar All-East Region: Boughton (1st Team): senior Jacob Reisdorf (3rd Team) and senior Jared Reisdorf (Honorable Mention). This marks the second times in their careers the Reisdorfs received this prestigious award.
Medaille also received three selections to the 2008 NSCAA/Adidas NCAA Division III Men All-Northeast Region team. Those selections were Boughton, junior Kendell McFayden, and freshman Alexander Rouse. This was the third time in as many years that Boughton has received this honor and in doing so he became Medaille College’s first three-time honoree.
These awards are coming off a season that saw Medaille win their fourth consecutive undefeated regular season conference championship and third trip to the NCAA Tournament.
