Maverick Men’s Soccer Team Falls at Fredonia State
It is quite possible that the Medaille College men’s soccer team has the most difficult start to a season in the country. After suffering tough losses to two top 25 teams in Virginia the Mavs fell to perennial power Fredonia State (3-1) this evening. The games first two goals came on an own goal from Medaille and a penalty kick for Fredonia which gave the host team a (2-0) lead at the break. Each team would notch a goal in the second half of play with junior, standout, Gary Boughton (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster)(pictured) finding the back of the net for the Mavs. The Mavs will not find an easier road ahead as they will head to York College to take on a top five nationally ranked team on Saturday (9/6). Tonight’s loss drops Medaille to (0-3-0) on the season.
